Guest Speaker: Marc Lipman

The modern computer and the internet have changed our lives as much as inventions such as electricity and the automobile.

Let’s trace its path from the early calculating devices of the 1600 and 1700’s to the huge business computers of the 60’s to the first computer designed for personal use and the birth of the Internet. We will see how their speed and power have grown immensely while their size and price has shrunk;

Marc Lipman worked in the field of Computer Science for 30 years and is an Adjunct Professor at Middlesex County College. He is a docent and trustee of the Barnegat Light Historical Society. He writes stories for the Sandpaper. His hobbies include duplicate bridge, softball, kayaking and gardening. He lives in Barnegat Light.
