Join our dedicated and dynamic team at the Long Beach island Foundation of the Arts & Sciences. We are looking for a candidate who has a firm grasp on marketing, economics and business practices, as well as the ability to communicate and discuss advertising opportunities with clients. You should be persuasive with a history in marketing or service and have excellent interpersonal customer service skills. This is part-time position up to 21 hours a week to start.

Required Job Skills & Qualifications

  • Candidate must have a good deal of initiative and drive in order to find and secure new clients and business.
  • Territory is primarily LBI and a 20 mile radius on the mainland
  • Maintain correspondence with potential and existing clients by email, phone, in-person
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills highly important
  • Must stay organized, with attention to detail and deadlines
  • Microsoft Office including Excel, Word, Email
  • Other technology and digital platforms a plus, including Constant Contact
  • Must have their own car and live within 45 minutes of LBI
  • Professional appearance
  • At least two years of experience in marketing and sales
  • High school diploma or GED completion. A college degree or course history in areas in advertising and communications, Associate degree or higher in marketing and business is a plus
  • Salary contingent upon proven experience. Commission on fulfilled sales. Part-Time Position

Job Responsibilities

• Maintain a set number of accounts, making calls to clients on a weekly basis to discuss advertising opportunities (in print, digitally and for events) and recommend specific advertising or sponsorship opportunities

• Place cold calls to potential new clients

• Answer calls every day from interested clients, relaying information, answering questions and setting up meeting appointments

• Maintain working knowledge of seasonal LBIF marketing, including their benefits, to provide this information to clients quickly and accurately

• Create contracts for clients to sign and take the time to explain all information found in the contract and guide clients through the process

• Attend meetings, meet sales quotas and fulfill administrative tasks, and be a willing team player as the need arises

• Maintain positive Community relations

The Long Beach Island Foundation of the Arts and Sciences (LBIF), located on Long Beach Island in New Jersey, is seeking the immediate hire of a qualified candidate for the position of a Administrative Assistant for Adult Programs and Special Events. The ideal candidate has the ability to be flexible and responsive to a fast pace, varied, customer service environment. The Coordinator duties include coordination of LBIF’s varies summer special events. The ability to understand and provide quality customer service is vital. Additional work includes office support and Front Desk shifts.

> Summer Camp Coordinator – Day Camp (Posted December 15, 2020)

The Long Beach Island Foundation of the Arts and Sciences (LBIF), located on Long Beach Island in New Jersey, is seeking the immediate hire of a qualified and passionate candidate for the position of Camp Coordinator for its Day Camp. The Camp Coordinator will be in charge of all aspects of the LBIF camp, including program development, camper recruitment and retention, staff recruitment, parent communication, customer service, marketing and operations, health and safety of campers. In addition, the Coordinator will manage a team of approximately 25 staff members. Applicants should have an undergraduate and/or graduate degree in education or a related field of study. The LBIF Day Camp, with an 40 year history of providing excellence in programming and creativity in the arts, crafts, science and recreational sports, runs nine weeks of programming from end of June through possibly September, Monday through Friday from 9 am until 3:30 pm.

CIT Program

LBIF’s Counselor in Training (CIT) Program is a rewarding experience which gives teens the opportunity to be a part of our non-profit cultural organization. The CIT program is geared towards high school students ages 14 & up who are interested in being a part programs based in art, science and education. This program offers a valuable experience that can help prepare participating CIT’s for the future!

Interning with the LBIF is a rewarding experience designed to give real-world understanding of working in a non-profit cultural organization. The LBIF has several internship programs available in areas ranging widely within the organization. If you are a Senior in High School or an undergraduate in college, please consider joining our team as a committed intern, ready to help promote and serve LBIF’s mission. Our summer season is a busy one and we can offer valuable experience to help prepare you for college or gain additional experience while you are in college. INTERN QUALIFICATIONS & REQUIREMENTS

  • Fully reliable with accessible transportation mandatory
  • Must possess the ability to work independently and within a team environment

  • Excellent organizational skills
  • Adept at multi-tasking
  • Outstanding verbal and written communication skills
  • Proficient with PC-based programs (MS Word, Excel, etc.). Some positions may require additional program knowledge requirements.
  • Our summer intern positions are unpaid
  • All interns must be able to commit to a weekly schedule with a minimum of 10hrs/week
  • Interns may be asked to bring their own laptops.
