The Landscape Architecture Design exhibition will address environmental issues of sustainability, resiliency, eco-preservation and issues that are critical to this region, Ocean County and the New Jersey coast. This exhibition showcases the significance of Art, Science and Design working together. We have assembled internationally recognized leaders in Landscape Architecture who will show their current projects that focus on the coastal landscape. Each of the fifteen participating firm will show printed images of projects in our gallery, both finished as well as in process, with supporting documentation that describe their projects.

Landscape Architecture is a multi-disciplinary field and one of the most diversified of the design professions. Landscape architects design the built environment of residential homes, neighborhoods, towns and cities while also protecting and managing the natural environment, from its forests and fields to rivers and coasts. Members of the profession have a special commitment to improving the quality of life through the best design of places for people, the natural environment and habitats. They analyze, plan, design, manage, and nurture the built and have a significant impact on communities and quality of life.

Landscape architecture incorporates aspects of botany, horticulture, the fine arts, architecture, industrial design, soil sciences, environmental psychology, geography, ecology, and civil engineering. Landscape architects work on structures and external spaces large or small, urban, suburban and rural, and with “hard” (built) and “soft” (planted) materials, while integrating ecological sustainability. Their ideas combine technical understanding with a creative flair for the design, organization, and use of spaces both small and large. From the individual homeowner to those in charge of major public projects, landscape architects influence decades of economic growth and sustainability by planning and designing the construction of useful and pleasing projects. The exhibition will showcase truly amazing cutting edge projects that have revolutionized environmental spaces.
