 In this Master Class\, participants will explore the art of color\, text
 ure\, and light—learning how to blend\, layer\, and manipulate pastels
  to create rich\, expressive works of art. Participants will also learn 
 traditional techniques and methods to improve their drawing skills\, and
  may bring their own reference images for inspiration. Designed for all 
 skill levels\, this class focuses on working with light to middle value 
 paper while unlocking the full potential of soft pastels.\nBIO\nBorn in 
 Taipei\, Taiwan\, Chung-Fan Chang’s work explores her Taiwanese and Ch
 inese heritage\, displacement and Eastern aesthetic through painting\, w
 orks on paper\, video\, and wall installation. Chung-Fan Chang was the r
 ecipient of the 2022 Individual Artist Fellowship from the New Jersey St
 ate Council on the Arts\; 2013-14 Visual Arts Fellow of the Mississippi 
 Arts Commission. Her “Kite” series of work has been exhibited in gal
 leries and museums nationally and internationally. Selected solo and gro
 up exhibitions include the Kite XIII: Emarginate (2024) at the Monmouth 
 Museum in Morristown\, NJ\; A Building with a View: Experiments in Anarc
 hitecture (2016) at the Contemporary Art Center in New Orleans\, LA\; th
 e Museum of Contemporary Art of Georgia in Atlanta\, GA (2013). Chang’
 s curatorial project Shifting Momentum – Abstract Art from Taiwan and 
 the Noyes Collection\, was exhibited at the Taipei Cultural Center in Ne
 w York\, NY and Noyes Museum of Art in Hammonton\, NJ (2018). Chung-Fan 
 Chang holds a BFA from Taipei National University of the Arts\, and an M
 FA from Savannah College of Art and Design. Chang is an Associate Profes
 sor of Art at Stockton University in Galloway\, New Jersey.
