This workshop will focus on making paper from plants harvested locally including some plant materials that can be found right in your own backyard! Students will form sheets of paper from the sample pulps. Instructions on gathering and processing plants for papermaking will be shared in the class. Instructions on hand binding small books with the samples will be shared. If we have a sunny day, there is a good chance many of our papers will dry in time to bind a sample book! Your papers can be used for book binding, collage, or other projects of your choosing. Papermaking can be a messy process, so it is encouraged to dress in clothing and shoes that you don't mind getting a little wet.
