In 1948, LBIF began as a small but growing summertime beach community for the arts. Today, the LBIF has expanded to meet the needs of the community-at-large as a year-round organization. We are open to the public and everyone can find something of interest. Consider supporting us through membership or sponsoring us.

OUR SPONSORS + PARTNERSHIPS
Without the support of our local businesses and community, the LBIF would not be able to preserve the arts and science culture on LBI and the surrounding areas. Sponsorship at the LBIF helps support LBIF’s mission of offering affordable arts and sciences programs to the LBI and surrounding community. Since we are a nonprofit organization, the more we receive, the more we give. You are invited to become general sponsor or to lend your support to an activity of special interest to you or to your customer base. Sponsorship opportunities are available on a general or event-specific basis.

Science Saturday at the LBIF tackles today’s most pressing scientific, environmental, and sustainability issues that directly affect our shore community and the Barnegat Bay. Science Saturdays are interactive and informative hands-on presentations in an informal atmosphere.

The LBIF gallery hosts free exhibitions year-round to enable arts education, introduction to new media, and stimulation for the mind and senses. Exhibits range from internationally known artists working in a wide range of media to community based shows highlighting the work of the talented local community and its artists.
-
The LBIF is expanding its offering of independent films and documentaries and is planning for weekly and bi-weekly viewings. Screened throughout the year, including the Lighthouse International Film Festival, LBIF hosts a variety of films and film festivals year-round, offering movies you won’t find anywhere else.
-
This is a family learning experience with lots of hands-on activities and lots of opportunities to learn about the critters and plants living underwater and on the land in the Barnegat Bay ecosystem. Have a blast participating in activities and guided tours of the natural beauty of LBIF’s marsh. While you’re here, check out the LBIF Camp’s miniaquarium and participate in a science-themed craft!
-
Our highly popular and successful jazz and music programs have expanded this season to offer a diverse and lively line-up. Sara Michaels, jazz & blues vocalist and Harvey Cedars resident, gives an introduction to the jazz concerts to get the audience tuned in to appreciate and enjoy the special evening.
-
Our Annual Juried Foundation Arts Festival is one of the LBIF’s largest fundraisers. Each admission fee goes directly to helping sustain the arts and cultural programs at the LBIF. On Friday evening, we host a ticketed Preview Party in our gallery with music, food, drinks, and socializing. With more than 60 artists working in jewelry, wood, ceramics, photography, clothing and painting, you’re bound to find something you’ll love. Spend the day shopping, and stay for the live music, food trucks, and more.
