Adult Programming Coordinator
LBIF is seeking the immediate hire of a qualified, enthusiastic candidate for the position of a Program Coordinator for Adults, and Administrative Office Assistant with the primary focus of implementation and oversight of Programming and clerical management in the Arts and the Sciences.

RESPONSIBILITIES
Program Coordinator is a clerical administrative position with supervisory responsibility. This position reports to the Executive Director and works collaboratively with other staff members and instructors and event planners.
This position oversees contracts for all program instructors & lecturers in the arts, the eco-sciences, yoga and wellness, humanities, and other visual and performing arts. This position supports instructors hired including scheduling models, ordering supplies and studio needs. The oversight of instructors, tracking of class attendance and budgets is important as a guide to overall measurement of a programs’s success.The administrative duties includes providing office support and customer service for class registration and cancellation, and sale of LBIF products as needed, and the ability to engage in marketing and social media outreach.

DUTIES
Programs are offered year round at the LBIF, with July and August as the busiest. Weekend and evening hours are as needed and mostly in the summer months. Support of our team for our special events and seasonal evening events such as Festivals, musical concerts, performances, film screenings, lectures and social events during the summer season (July – August) are on an as needed basis. Flexible hours are a must.

SKILLS
Education: a bachelor’s degree is a minimum required. A graduate degree is preferred. Experience in the arts, humanities, teaching, or higher education is preferred. Good writing and verbal skills are required along with Excel proficiency.
The role requires the individual to be highly organized with attention to detail when it comes to planning, creative problem solving, and management. Experience in working as part of a strong team, with a positive attitude and role flexibility is a must. The role requires an understanding for the need of courtesy, service, cooperation, hospitality, sensitivity, and professionalism to internal and external customers.
Basic computer skills: Word, Excel, Email. Experience with CRMS such as Salesforce and Constant Contact.
Advanced skills a plus: IT Skills, Website management, Graphic Design Skills such as In Design/ Illustrator/Photoshop, Social Media, and Photography. Please supply additional skills and interests that add value to this position.

Pay: $18.00 per hour and is commensurate with experience.

Membership Coordinator

LBIF is interviewing for the position of Office Assistant with the prime focus of Membership coordination, membership satisfaction, and membership expansion.

This is an Office Administrative position with general duties, which includes to manage membership records & data entry (in Excel and Salesforce), communicate with ticket holders and registration for our events and classes, track registrations for programs and classes, coordinate annual appeals and membershipvdrives, general community outreach, assisting in our special events, and developing marketing strategies for expanding membership. Front Desk/Receptionist duties are often needed to serve and interact with the public.

Excellent customer service, attention to detail , professionalism, courtesy, are all very important for this position. Office skills should include Word, Excel, Constant Contact. Candidate must have excellent verbal and writing skills, the ability to multi-task, and be a supportive member of the LBIF team and the mission of the LBIF.

LBIF needs a young person to help on a weekly basis with facilities. Candidate must reliable, a team player, and eager to help our facilities personnel with the indoor/outdoor needs of the LBIF. 
 
Duties include event set-up and clean-up, light yard work, and light cleaning. Hours are 10 to 15 hours per week including possible weekends. Candidate must be 18 years of age or older and live within a 40-minute commute to LBIF. This position begins July 1 and ends Labor Day.

About us: 

LBIF is a premier arts, science, and racquet sports facility. We are seeking a friendly, reliable, and detail-oriented attendant to oversee our tennis and pickleball daily operations. 

Position Summary:  

The tennis and pickleball pavilion attendant is responsible for managing our daily operations, delivering exceptional member and guest service, coordinating court reservations, and supporting tennis and pickleball programming and events. 

Key Responsibilities: 

  • Greet members and guests in a professional welcoming manner.
  • Manage court reservations, lesson bookings, and program registrations.
  • Answer phone calls and general inquiries.
  • Maintain a clean and organized pavilion, as well as preparing coffee station on weekends. 

Compensation: 

Competitive hourly pay and summer-end bonus 

Schedule: 

7am-2pm Friday – Sunday, and then flexibility on working two other week days 7am-2pm.

Our Special Events programs offers aspiring professionals the chance to gain hands-on experience in our vibrant event environment. A flexible schedule on your part is helpful, and you must be available to work certain nights and weekends at the LBIF for our Special Events. Hours per week vary from 10 to 20 per week.
 
Responsibilities
  • Assist front desk staff with guest check-ins, check-outs, and inquiries to ensure a seamless guest experience
  • Participate in welcoming guests from diverse backgrounds, demonstrating excellent customer service and hospitality skills
  • Contribute to maintaining a clean, organized, and welcoming environment i

  • Compile organized archives of all event photography to be used in real marketing campaigns for the LBIF and to be accessed by other interns and staff.
  • Work with fellow interns and staff in other departments to work together for the marketing of all events and classes.
  • Take snapshots of day-to-day activities of the LBIF, which include but are not limited to: adult classes, children’s summer camp, science-related excursions on the LBIF grounds, tennis, ceramics studio activity, guest speakers, and exhibitions.

Science Intern Tasks Include: 

  • Promote science focused activities at LBIF and create interesting, engaging content daily on social media including Facebook & Instagram for LBIF Special Events.
  • Work with staff to help create event-specific marketing materials for our Discovery Days (twice weekly).
  • Special projects such as assisting with annual Barnegat Bay Day (July 5).
  • Assist with scheduled guided tours and post images of the event.

As a 501(C)3 non-profit organization, the LBIF mission is to promote the arts and sciences on Long Beach Island and in the surrounding communities by enlightening, educating, and stimulating thought and discussion about current trends. 

The LBIF has continued this vision by offering thousands of classes, workshops, exhibitions, events, and educational programs to the community – all of which have been possible due to its dedicated staff, Board of Trustees, generous donors, members, interns, and volunteers. 

General Internship Qualifications + Requirements:

  • Fully reliable with accessible transportation is mandatory 
  • Must possess the ability to work independently and within a team environment. 
  • Resourceful, creative, and a self-starter 
  • Excellent organizational skills 
  • Social media and marketing skills 
  • Adept at multi-tasking 
  • Outstanding verbal, written, communication skills, and the ability to write Press Releases

  • Take photos of daily activities at LBIF and create interesting, engaging content daily on social media including Facebook & Instagram for LBIF Special Events.
  • Work with staff to help create event-specific marketing materials. Events include our performing arts, concerts, festivals, parties, tennis, classes, and camp.
