Overview: 

Are you ready to have one of the best summers of your life? Join our team at the LBIF Summer camp on Long Beach Island in Loveladies, NJ. Qualifications and Responsibilities

Position Summary:  

For Teachers: Seeking both experienced teachers and recent graduates to join us. This is a unique chance for educators at all ages of their career to grow and contribute to the development of our students in a unique and playful setting. 

  • Bachelor’s degree in education or a related field, or working towards a bachelor’s degree in education or related field. 
  • Certifications in Special Education and Standard First Aid are a plus. 
  • Experience working with children in educational settings, in the arts, sciences, theater arts or other creative disciplines is required. 
  • Patient, adaptable, creative, engaging, organized, kind. 
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills 
  • Excellent classroom and space management skills. 
  • Design and implement engaging lesson plans, activities, and experiences that promote holistic development in social, emotional, and cognitive domains within the discipline of the visual arts based on weekly themes provided. 
  • Establish a fun, safe, enriching and supportive learning atmosphere.\Work alongside counselors to monitor and coordinate play time outside during breaks. 
  • Work alongside counselors coordinating both in indoor and outdoor activities. 

For Counselors: This is the perfect opportunity for college students and teachers with available summers who want to work in an educational setting. 

  • Patient, adaptable, creative, engaging, organized, kind. 
  • Experience working with children; enrolled in undergraduate programs such as Early Childhood Education, visual or performing arts, environmental sciences preferred. 
  • Ability to adapt quickly to changing circumstances while maintaining a positive attitude.
  • Ability to lead outdoor activities with campers throughout the season. 
  • Organized, punctual, reliable. 
  • Ability to work alongside teachers to facilitate art, science, performing arts lessons 
 
LBIF needs a young person to help on a weekly basis with facilities. Candidate must reliable, a team player, and eager to help our facilities personnel with the indoor/outdoor needs of the LBIF. 
 
Duties include event set-up and clean-up, light yard work, and light cleaning. Hours are 10 to 15 hours per week including possible weekends. Candidate must be 18 years of age or older and live within a 40-minute commute to LBIF. This position begins July 1 and ends Labor Day.

Overview
Join our vibrant Art Center as a Front Desk Staff member and become the welcoming face of our creative community! In this dynamic role, you will be the first point of contact for visitors, members, artists, and participants, ensuring a positive and engaging experience from the moment they arrive. Duties
  • Manage guest check-ins, ticketing, and registration processes accurately and efficiently
  • Assist in coordinating events such as workshops, performances, and gallery openings by supporting setup and guest management
  • Handle cash transactions for ticket sales or merchandise with precision and accountability
  • Resolve guest concerns or conflicts promptly using effective conflict management techniques to ensure a welcoming environment
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization at the front desk area to uphold a professional appearance
Experience
  • College education. recent grad, or enrolled as a senior in a university program
  • Previous experience in customer service or guest services roles is highly desirable
  • Familiarity with event management or coordinating public programs enhances effectiveness in this role
  • Experience working with children or in educational settings is a plus
  • Lifeguard experience or certifications are beneficial for handling emergency situations confidently
  • Strong public speaking skills help in guiding tours or presenting information to diverse audiences
  • Ability to manage cash handling accurately and efficiently is essential for transactional responsibilities
  • Candidate must live within a 45 minute commute, and commit to an immediate hire through Labor Day.
  • Availability to work weekend hours and certain evenings during the week

Job Overview
We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Teacher to join our educational and artistic team in Ceramics. The ideal candidate will possess a strong commitment to fostering a positive learning environment and will be responsible for developing engaging lesson plans that cater to the diverse needs of students. This role requires creativity, patience, and the ability to inspire students in their academic and personal growth.

Duties

  • Develop and implement curriculum that meets educational standards and caters to the varied learning styles of students.
  • Create lesson plans that are engaging, interactive, and aligned with learning objectives.
  • Manage classroom behavior effectively to maintain a conducive learning environment.
  • Utilize various teaching methods, including hands-on activities, discussions, and multimedia resources.
  • Foster a nurturing atmosphere that encourages student participation and collaboration.
  • Assess student progress regularly through formal and informal evaluations.
  • Participate in professional development opportunities to enhance teaching skills and stay current with educational trends.
  • Handle the technical demands, studio maintenance demands and responsibilities of teaching in a state-of-the-art ceramic studio.

Qualifications

  • Proven experience in teaching studio ceramics.
  • Experience working with children in various settings, including early childhood education or special education.
  • Familiarity with curriculum development and lesson planning techniques.
  • Skills in behavior management and understanding of childhood development principles.
  • Ability to create an inclusive classroom environment that accommodates diverse learners.
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, along with the ability to engage students effectively.
  • A BFA or MFA in Ceramics, and /or degree in Education or a related field is preferred; relevant certifications are advantageous. Resume and portfolio of work are required as are 3 references.

About us: 

LBIF is a premier arts, science, and racquet sports facility. We are seeking a friendly, reliable, and detail-oriented attendant to oversee our tennis and pickleball daily operations. 

Position Summary:  

The tennis and pickleball pavilion attendant is responsible for managing our daily operations, delivering exceptional member and guest service, coordinating court reservations, and supporting tennis and pickleball programming and events. 

Key Responsibilities: 

  • Greet members and guests in a professional welcoming manner.
  • Manage court reservations, lesson bookings, and program registrations.
  • Answer phone calls and general inquiries.
  • Maintain a clean and organized pavilion, as well as preparing coffee station on weekends. 

Compensation: 

Competitive hourly pay and summer-end bonus 

Schedule: 

7am-2pm Friday – Sunday, and then flexibility on working two other week days 7am-2pm.

Summer Internships

LBIF offers paid and unpaid internship opportunities. LBIF has several openings for candidates who are currently enrolled in college and university programs or are recent graduates. The candidate must live within a 45 minute commute and be available to work until Labor Day. Availably for evening and weekends are a plus. Positions will be filled on a first come first served basis and will close by the end of May.

Art Gallery + Exhibitions intern  to assist with all aspects of an exhibition including marketing, art events, programs through  Social Media. 

Tasks may include: 

  • Capture and utilize visual images to create social media content.
  • Take photos of daily activities at LBIF and create interesting, engaging content daily on social media including Facebook & Instagram for LBIF Art Events.
  • Work with staff to help create event-specific marketing materials. Create exhibit materials, including labels and signage.
  • Attend exhibition openings & lectures to assist the Gallery Coordinator and take photos.
  • Take photos of work in exhibitions for archives.
  • Assist with exhibitions which may include de-installation, packing, and shipping.
  • Assist the Gallery Coordinator with preparing for annual Arts Festival & attend the events.
  • Excellent writing skills are a plus!

Overview

Embark on an exciting journey in the hospitality industry with our paid Internship in Hospitality! Our Special Events programs offers aspiring professionals the chance to gain hands-on experience in our vibrant event environment. You will be guided to develop essential skills in guest relations, customer service, and operations while working alongside our hospitality expert. This internship is designed to provide a comprehensive introduction to the hospitality sector, empowering you with practical knowledge and valuable industry insights to kick-start your career.
 
A flexible schedule on your part is helpful, and you must be available to work certain nights and weekends at the LBIF for our Special Events. Hours per week vary from 10 to 20 per week.
 
Responsibilities
  • Assist front desk staff with guest check-ins, check-outs, and inquiries to ensure a seamless guest experience
  • Participate in welcoming guests from diverse backgrounds, demonstrating excellent customer service and hospitality skills
  • Contribute to maintaining a clean, organized, and welcoming environment i
  • Collaborate with team members to support event setups, concierge services, and other daily operations
Requirements
  • Currently enrolled in or recently graduated from a program related to hospitality, tourism, or a similar field
  • Must live within a 40 minute commute from the LBIF campus
  • Must be available to intern from June 26 to August 30
  • Photography skills is a plus
  • Strong customer service orientation with excellent interpersonal skills
  • Ability to communicate clearly and professionally in person and via phone or digital channels
  • Demonstrated enthusiasm for hospitality, guest relations, and working in a fast-paced environment

  • Photograph LBIF major annual events. Specifically, we wish to see a wide variety of portraits of guests and students, as well as imagery of overall scope of all events, plus intimate details, décor, etc.
  • Color editing of all photography.
  • Compile organized archives of all event photography to be used in real marketing campaigns for the LBIF and to be accessed by other interns and staff.
  • Work with fellow interns and staff in other departments to work together for the marketing of all events and classes.
  • Take snapshots of day-to-day activities of the LBIF, which include but are not limited to: adult classes, children’s summer camp, science-related excursions on the LBIF grounds, tennis, ceramics studio activity, guest speakers, and exhibitions.
