35 Under 35 Exhibition

35 UNDER 35 EXHIBITION

On view July 2024 – August 2024

The exhibition’s juror is Ruba Katrib, Curator and Director of Curatorial Affairs at MoMA PS1, New York. To quote Katrib about the jury process for the 35 Under 35 Exhibition, “I am very impressed by the talented pool of artists who submitted their work for this year’s 35 Under 35 program. Spanning painting, sculpture, and other media, the artworks I selected were intriguing and energetic, with the artists often using storytelling devices to put forth their unique perspectives.” Out of 151 submissions, Katrib chose 35 artists and 40 works featuring the new work of these emerging talented artists.

At PS1, Katrib has curated exhibitions such as Rirkrit Tiravanija (2023); Daniel Lind Ramos (2023); Jumana Manna: Break, Take, Erase, Tally (2022); Frieda Toranzo Jaeger: Autonomous Drive (2022); Greater New York (2021); Niki de Saint Phalle: Structures for Life (2021); Simone Fattal’s retrospective in 2019, and solo shows by Edgar Heap of Birds (2019); Karrabing Collective (2019); Fernando Palma Rodrigues, and Julia Phillips (2018).

On July 21 from 6:00 pm to 7:30 pm, the LBIF will welcome Katrib to the gallery, where she will present the talk “Global Women” as it relates to PS1’s programs and current presentations, including the works of Pacita Abad, Yto Barrada, Melissa Cody, and Regina José Galindo.
