DATE Thursday, September 10; 10:00am – 2:00pm
FEE $185
Join instructor Kathleen Lang in creating a one-of-a-kind silk scarf while exploring the textile designing and dyeing technique called eco printing. Eco printing employs the use of botanical items such as leaves, flower blossoms, and other natural elements directly on the fabric producing dye prints from the plant design. The workshop will begin with a demonstration, discussion about plant items and the colors they produce, followed by guidance through designing and processing the colors into the scarf.
Students are encouraged to forage their own plants in preparation for the workshop. Upon registration, students will receive a materials list and other information in preparation for the workshop. Silk scarf included in workshop fee. Kathleen will also have foraged plants available for an additional $10 per student if needed.
