Philadelphia artist Paul DuSold will demonstrate a step-by-step process for creating a portrait in oils. In the course of this FREE demonstration, Paul will describe the fundamentals of achieving a compelling likeness of the individual. Considerations of complexion, lighting effect and relationship of features will be discussed so that audience members gain a clear understanding of all aspects of the artists’ decision making in creating the portrait. Registration required.
BIO
Paul DuSold is a representational, figurative painter living and working in Philadelphia. He is a graduate of the Pennsylvania Academy of Fine Art. He has painted portraits for many institutions in Philadelphia including Pennsylvania Hospital, Temple University, The Franklin Institute, The Union League of Philadelphia, and many others. Paul’s work includes still lifes, landscapes and figurative work as well as portraits. He has had many one person shows in the Philadelphia area. Paul has taught painting for over 30 years and is highly regarded as a teacher. Currently he teaches at the Fleisher Art Memorial and the Woodmere Museum as well as online.
