In this beginner wheel pottery class, students will be introduced to the fundamentals of working on the pottery wheel in a supportive, hands-on environment. Participants will learn basic throwing techniques, trimming, and simple surface decoration while building confidence and control with clay. Each week builds on the last, allowing students to practice skills and create utilitarian forms like bowls and cups. No prior experience is required, dress to get messy. (We recommend not wearing jewelry like rings and bracelets, bringing an apron and/or towel, and closed toe shoes.)
