Eco-Printing on a Silk Pillowcase with Foraged Plants

Fee $155/session

Explore the world of printing using plant and other organic materials to impart original designs on fabric.  Students will learn the best practices for choosing and placing plant materials, how to transfer the pattern onto silk, and steaming the project for permanence. The registration fee covers one standard size silk charmeuse pillowcase, most plant materials, all steaming materials and disposable latex gloves. Participants are encouraged to bring plant leaves and flowers from their yards or a bouquet to commemorate a special event. Details on the best plant materials to choose for this process will be emailed to all participants prior to class. Please wear comfortable clothing and shoes that you don’t mind getting stained or wet.
