Natural Dyeing and Hand Printing for Beginners with Maria Maurio

Join recognized Master Artisan Maria Maurio in this hands-on printing workshop, exploring the possibilities of natural dyes and artisanal techniques. This natural dye workshop will combine a simple shibori resist technique and dyeing, the science of shifting natural colors and hand-printing techniques using an all natural printing paste.  Participants will gain a basic knowledge of natural dyes and printing all showcased on two hand-dyed, organic cotton dinner napkins to show off their talent! The registration fee covers all natural dyes, printing blocks, two pre-mordanted napkins, and disposable latex gloves. Please wear comfortable clothing and shoes that you won’t mind getting stained or wet. Additional pre-treated napkins will be available for purchase at the class at a cost of $20 for 2 additional napkins, payable directly to the instructor.
